Completion...
Gin Seok Song
has just finished the design and trimming of his new race toy, jewel
of our brand : the Boomerang III.
The prototypes
of this new wing were tested by our factory pilots (Ogi, Louise, Housi
and Jimmy) during the Europeans and World Cup Tour 2002. The Boomerang
represents a lot for Gin : "It's an honour to design this glider for
the best pilots in the world. As with all my gliders, I've put my
heart and soul into this wing."
Development...
Gin concentrated
the development on a new profile. Work started 2 years ago to study
and test profiles in the Korean Air Force Academy wind tunnel. He
also studied and refined the leading edge inlets and developed a different
internal structure for the glider, made with fine adjustments of the
panels, tapes, internal ribs, main ribs, diagonal ribs and reinforcements...
A lot of detail
changes have combined to make this glider a jewel.
The incredible handcrafting to refine each detail has set new standards
of quality and technical perfection : "sometimes flying becomes an
art..."
Differences...
- better climb
rate:
After the 2002 competition season Jimmy Pacher said that the small
size prototype was climbing better than an ML Boomerang II.
- safer
- easier to fly
- a general feeling
of more stability
- more precise
- more max speed
with stability
: Louise Crandal said that she was able to follow the top guys at
full speed last year even with her "S" size prototype.
- "she cuts through
the air like a blade cuts through silk" Gin says.
